The Far North Quilt Trail was initiated on the traditional territories of the Dena Peoples of the lower Tanana River - we gratefully acknowledge this in thanks to the original inhabitants that stewarded this land since time immemorial.

I chose this pattern because it was my first attempt at a barn quilt. I took the Painted Quilts class at the Folk School taught by Somer Hahm, and this pattern seemed doable in the time allotted. I picked the bright color way so that the raven would stand out as the main feature of the block.
