The Far North Quilt Trail was initiated on the traditional territories of the Dena Peoples of the lower Tanana River - we gratefully acknowledge this in thanks to the original inhabitants that stewarded this land since time immemorial.
Gathering Place
at Well Street Art Company
May 2021
Well Street Art Company is Fairbanks' premiere art gallery. A truly special place, this old plumbing supply store turned art gallery is owned by David Mollett, a longtime and well known Alaskan painter. The building also houses 12 artist studios, and features monthly rotating art exhibits featuring Alaska's most well known artists.
A former employee and three time studio tenant Somer Hahm approached Well Street early on during the founding of the Far North Quilt Trail. David was supportive, and hosted the first barn quilt painting workshop in April of 2018.
It was all thanks to the generous funding from Rasmuson Foundation that Gathering Place came to be at the corner of Well and Good Streets in Fairbanks, Alaska. Truly a wonderful moment to add Well Street Art Company to the Far North Quilt Trail.
