Marie was inspired by this project to connect with neighbors and our community through the traditional art of quilting. "I started quilting bed covers and other items in Whitehorse, Canada in 2010, and have always preferred the piecing proecess to the quilting at the end...Barn quilts were right up my alley! I wanted to bring life to our house in winter by choosing colors that I see in my garden all summer. The title 'Summer Star' connects the two seasons for me, since we can't see stars in Alaska in the summer".
