The Far North Quilt Trail was initiated on the traditional territories of the Dena Peoples of the lower Tanana River - we gratefully acknowledge this in thanks to the original inhabitants that stewarded this land since time immemorial.

Our family created this barn quilt as a way to bring even more joy and art into our home and daily life. Installed on the exterior of our building, it transforms a familiar space into something that can be shared with others, offering a moment of color, pattern, and curiosity to those who pass by.

While the palette is simple, each color was chosen with care to complement the tones of our home and its surroundings. Rather than standing apart, the quilt is meant to belong—to echo the existing structure while gently enlivening it. In this way, the piece becomes part of a larger conversation between art, architecture, and environment.

Like many barn quilts, Bear Tooth reflects a desire to make creativity visible and accessible. It is both a personal expression and a public gesture, extending the spirit of making beyond the interior and into the broader community.
